I married his 1st grandson, Gabe. I was 16 yrs old when Gabe took me to the Valley to meet Grandpa Utah and Thelma. That was 31 yrs ago. He loved me like one of his own. Our daughter, Gabrielle, is his 1st great-granddaughter. Our son, Utah, is his namesake. His second grandson is also a namesake, Utah “Jake” and Jake’s son. Utah “Hayden.” What a legacy he left! May God bless his sweet soul and comfort all those who love him.
When I first met Utah and Thelma I thought what a wonderful couple. Utah the epitamy of a Southern gentleman and Thelma so much energy and hard working raising a beautiful family. Love Lovel and Avis Ann

Dickerson Family - I am so sorry to hear about Utah passing away. My mother (Yuval King) and I stayed in touch with him all these years. He was always so kind to talk with and tell us about how the "King Family Home Place" was doing. He bought the King farm and orchards there on Mile 9 in 1960 from my grandmother Tessie Ann King. I thought it was wonderful when he and Myra came to my mother's funeral there in Weslaco in October 2011. It meant so much to me that day. He was an amazing gentleman. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

We are sorry for the loss of your husband & father. He was a wonderful and kind man to us all. We learned so much about his family and farming in the many stories he shared with us having coffee with him in the mornings at Whataburger, the times he would get stuck in his truck in his fields checking the crops or when he "bumped" into something out in the fields. He was a true Texas Gentleman. Everyone loved him including us.

Many memories come to mind growing up with my best friend Nita, Utah’s oldest daughter. Utah was a wonderful caring person & always had time for his family. I remember picking grapefruit, riding horses, going to church with the family & many other memories. Utah will be greatly missed. Thank you for the wonderful memories & love. I know God will bless your family with comfort, care & many wonderful memories.
