I remember the first time I met Bill back in our high school days, and I remember the last time we saw each other in person when he came for a weekend visit to Dallas not too long ago. We would occasionally reminisce of that first day we met. We had several other years throughout our friendship full of great memories. We would go years without talking to each other (because life is like sometime), but when we would reconnect, it was like we had just talked the day before. I consider Bill one of my closes friends throughout my life. He was always showing a smile and had the gift of always making everyone around him feel like family. As our friendship grew, he became part of my family in knowing my entire family and attending many family gatherings in Houston, my sister's wedding, and our annual weekend camping trip at the Guadalupe River. William was always finding humor in life and I remember every time we talked, it was always filled with laughter. He had a nickname for almost everyone. His nickname for me was/is "funny". One day I asked Bill way he called me "funny" and he said because I always made him laugh. The non-stop laughter experience worked both ways for us. I am grateful for the friendship we shared and the great memories in life we experienced. To William's family - I am so sorry to hear of our loss. I offer my deepest condolences during this time of grief and I hope that the love of family and friends will comfort and strengthen you in the days ahead. Joe Torres - aka "Funny" Dallas TX
