Beloved Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend
Benita J. Adams, 74, passed away on June 22, 2026 at her home in San Antonio, Texas.
Benita and her twin sister, Anita, were born on August 26, 1951, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Harold and Twila Lewsader.
During her childhood, she spent many hours alongside her siblings helping her parents operate the family restaurant, Harold’s Country Kitchen, in Donna, Texas. Those years instilled in her the values of family and caring for others.
Throughout her life, Benita enjoyed helping people. As a massage therapist and reflexologist, she found joy in bringing comfort, healing and relaxation to those she served. Her compassionate spirit and gentle heart touched the lives of many.
Benita will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Linda Opel; her children, Marshall Pipkin, Venissa Nieschwietz, and Aaron Adams; her grandchildren, Kali Pitts, Grayson Gruhn, and John Campbell; her great-grandchildren, Keaton, Kasen, Lilly, and Rhyatt; as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Twila Lewsader; her brother, Michael Dean Lewsader; her beloved twin sister, Anita Joann Bass; and her grandson, Corey Dixon.
