Weslaco— Olga Garcia, 74, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at her home.
Olga was a woman whose life was rooted in love, faith, and service to others. She passed surrounded by family, in a home filled with laughter, warmth, and the deep comfort of those who cherished her most.
A devoted daughter, Olga lovingly cared for her mother throughout her life, reflecting her selfless and compassionate nature. She dedicated over 30 years of service as a social worker for the State of Texas, making a lasting impact on countless lives through her kindness and commitment to helping others.
Olga was an active and faithful member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She found great joy in serving her church community, often shopping for requested items and thoughtfully preparing donation bags for those in need. Her generosity quietly touched many lives.
Olga treasured time spent with her family—shopping outings with her sister, barbecues with her brothers, and joyful gatherings with her extended family. Olga was a constant and loving presence in the lives of her nieces and nephews, faithfully attending their sporting events and special occasions. She also cherished her friendships, maintaining close and meaningful relationships within her neighborhood and beyond.
At home, Olga found comfort and companionship in her beloved dogs, who brought her great joy.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Trinidad Oliva; her mother, Lorenza Oliva Garcia; her brother, Jorge Luis Garcia; and her uncles, Jose Oliva, Albino Oliva, Francisco Oliva, and Raul Oliva.
Olga is survived by her loving sister, Juanita Garcia-Kennedy; her brother, Carlos Garcia, and his wife, Nelly; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
Olga will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy of kindness, service, and devotion will live on in all who knew her.
